Let's talk about Westie Allergies! ❤️ 🐾 [+New Video!]

Hey friends,

I hope you and your pups are doing well!

This week we are talking about our long journey with Westie allergies. 🐶 🐾

Sami has been struggling with allergies since he was 1 year old. I haven’t talked much about it until now, because it’s been an ongoing struggle to find things that help. 🙈

First we did an allergy test and we found out Sami is allergic to dust mites and many foods (like chicken, beef, wheat and even egg). And so our story began. I tried many different things to keep the allergies under control (except for medication, which I wanted to avoid as much as possible, to protect his immune system).

As of recently, Sami is doing really well and I feel like I “solved” his allergies.

So I made a VIDEO about it to share how I did it. You can watch Part 1 here.

Part 2 is here (where I talk more about diet and other things we started doing recently)!

Did you know?

Skin allergies are also known as “atopic dermatitis” or “atopy” and it affects around 25% of all dogs. It’s very common in Westies. Symptoms usually start between the ages of 1-3 years old and the most common signs are licking and chewing the paws, rubbing the face, scratching often and frequent ear infections.

Is you Westie struggling with allergies too? I’d love to hear your story. What helped?

Until next week!

Take care,

Miruna and Sami 💕
