Last Monday, something wild happened. We had a massive power outage that hit Portugal, Spain, and parts of southern France. We were left with no electricity, no internet, no phone service... nada. The whole city felt like it hit pause.

We decided to vlog our day in the dark — just Sami and us, as we carried him up and down 8 flights of stairs! With the streets empty and everything shut down, we got a glimpse of what life looks like totally unplugged.

Sami handled the whole thing better than we did, because for him it was just another day. The only difference to him was: he had to eat his dinner cold, as opposed to heated in the microwave, as he is used to. He didn’t complain! 😅

For us, though, this was the weirdest day ever. Bobby wasn’t even at home when it happened - he was in Lisbon, about two hours away, and I had no idea if he would be able to come back home. All the gas stations were shut down so anyone who was out of gas couldn’t drive back. Luckily, he made it back safely, but I didn’t hear from him until he returned - which can be very unsettling.

Luckily, the blackout only lasted around 9 hours — and we were very happy to see the lights (and Wi-Fi) come back on when evening came!
